About Us
With over 45 years of combined experience, our team delivers unmatched expertise in electrical engineering, renewable energy systems, and power infrastructure across North America, the Middle East, and Latin America. We have successfully executed end-to-end projects, from initial concept development through final commissioning, encompassing utility-scale solar, BESS installations, substations, and thermal and nuclear generation facilities.
On Grid Engineering has developed proprietary design automation tools and standardized deliverables—including one-line diagrams, three-line schematics, and equipment libraries—that streamline project timelines and ensure consistency across our global portfolio. Our expertise in regulatory compliance spans NEC, IEEE, NESC, NERC, and international standards, guiding clients through interconnection requirements and FAC-008 filings.
We have provided engineering leadership on landmark renewable energy installations, including 95 MWAC PV designs in Utah, 150 MW BESS projects in Arizona, and complex agrivoltaics deployments in Ohio. Our project scope encompasses load flow, short-circuit, grounding, arc-flash, and lightning assessments, using ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, SKM, and CYMCAP.
Through collaboration with developers, EPC contractors, and utilities, we optimize layouts for cost savings—identifying MV conductor and DC harness routing efficiencies—and validate protective relaying schemes up to 500 kV. We support construction and commissioning activities, ensuring smooth energization, performance testing, and turnover to operations teams across utility, industrial, and transportation sectors.

Utility-Scale PV & BESS Design
Our team has led engineering efforts for projects up to 700 MW, delivering feasibility studies through IFC drawings. We specialize in MV and LV design, DC collection, inverter integration, and full balance-of-plant documentation.

Power System & Protection Studies
We provide comprehensive AC and DC power system and protection studies for utility-scale PV and BESS projects across all voltage levels, up to 500 kV. Our expertise includes load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and loss analysis; arc flash and protection coordination studies; grounding analysis; lightning risk assessment; and insulation coordination. We also support control and SCADA validation, including relay settings, logic development, and secure interconnection verification. All studies are performed using industry-leading tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, CYMCAP, SKM, and CDEGS. Our work complies with NEC, IEEE, NESC, NERC, and NFPA 70E standards, ensuring both technical accuracy and regulatory alignment.

QA/QC & Peer Review
We implement structured quality assurance and control procedures across all engineering deliverables, including power system studies and electrical design packages. Our QA/QC process includes independent peer reviews, model validation, and drawing audits to ensure technical accuracy, compliance with codes and standards, and alignment with project requirements. For system studies, we verify input data, boundary conditions, and scenario definitions, and cross-check results against expected system behavior and utility requirements. Our team maintains redline tracking, issue logs, and formal checklists to support consistency and accountability from design through final submittals.
